Disabling buzzer for colorprint

When I recently used colorprint for the first time I realised that the buzzer that goes off to notify you that its time to change the filament keeps going off until you make the filament change. Is there a way to disable this so it either only goes of 3 times and then is done or to turn it off completely? If I were to run a colorprint overnight I'd rather not be woken up by my printer and I also know my school is getting a new MK2S this year and I'm sure they wouldn't like to have the buzzer keep going off during class.

Re: Disabling buzzer for colorprint

You really don't want to leave the printer it it's change filament state for an extended period of time. If you are asleep when a change is needed, you need to wake up and change it. That is why it is so persistent with the buzzer.

The class room is a slightly different situation, as one person may be attending to the printer and not want to disturb the rest of the class.

I do no think this is a wise modification to make.

That said, if you edit the .gcode file and remove the buzzer command, it will be silent.

What sort of issues would arise from leaving the printer in the filament change mode?

From the E3D web site:

Like all 3D printers, printers fitted with a high temperature all metal hotend can be a fire hazard. You are using experimental technology to heat and melt plastic, in a machine that you may have built or modified yourself, that likely does not have safety certification or significant failsafes. Fire/Smoke alarms, supervision of your printer while printing, and expertise should not be considered optional.

During the filament change doesn't the printer turn off both the hotend and heated bed though? I thought I noticed the temperatures lowered while I was changing the filament.
