Couple issues, please help 🙂

Sometimes before calibration when the extruder moves all the way to the left it just keeps trying to move for several seconds like it's not seeing the switch depressed. I verified that it is in fact hitting and fully depressing it each time, what causes this. Hopefully it's not a bad switch(printer is less than 2 weeks old) . Just this morning it failed calibration after the first 5 points and dug it's nozzle in the bed damaging it. This has never happened before and the printer has made dozens of prints so far. Also when printing flexible tpe material at 210c nozzle and 40c bed the print becomes almost permanently bound to the bed an alcohol bath is required to free it and even than it needs scraped alot. The first layer height is .8 it's not too low and pla comes off with a spatula without issues. Any ideas? White is the tpe first layer silver is pla for comparison
Thanks, Jesse

You can check the end-stops from the printer menu: Calibration/Show End Stops.

Press the end stop a few times and make sure the screen changes when you press it.

It is most likely that your cable management at the rear of the extruder is preventing the end-stop being hit; you may have a cable tie hitting the frame.

Regarding flexibles; you should use either talcum powder or glue stick.

This happened to me, too. In my case, there was too much of the belt sticking out of the belt holder and it jams the pulley when it gets close to the endstop. Similar to your case, it wasn't an issue right after building the printer, but became an issue about 2 weeks afterward. I just cut off the length of the belt that stuck out of the holder and my problem was solved.

Thanks to you both for the direction. I believe your on to something with the extra exposed bit of belt. I will trim that later. I will use the function in the printer to verify that it's working well.

Last question why when printing flexible does it always seem to mess up and filament comes out like spaghetti from the left side of the extruder 3d printed part hole. It works some times and not others. I've read about changing the ptfe tube to take up as much space as possible and kinda line the area from the gear on down. Also I read about retraction could be the issue. I'm just trying to find a solution to get it to work for now and modify the ptfe tube later as I have to order and wait for it.

Thanks for the quick responses I really appreciate it as I'm very new to this!!

Loading can be a problem with flex; it's a little too fast. You also need to lower the spring tension and print at much lower speeds.

It may be easier to undo the springs and lower the tensioner to load manually.

Then as long as you keep the print speeds low it should print OK. You will get stringing which can be mitigated to an extent by playing with temps, retraction and wipe settings, but your flex settings will be very specific to your printer, filament and environment.

Thanks man, i did lower the tension to basically nothing, turned retraction off and printed at 40mm and it was a success. I did use the glue stick for the first time and I made removing the tpe much easier. And for the cable management one of the zip ties was touching the frame a bit and I trimmed the belt excess back and it's not had the ending point issue this far. 😀
Thanks for all your help and thanks to Phillip again.
