Does your MK2 have the default wire wrap setup or cable chains?
Stock Mk2 + MM, but it was happening before the MM upgrade.

I have the same issue, it looks like it is coming from the X axis and I cannot hear it on slow speed. I have Igus bushings. I will try to play with the X screws but I moved the pulley and did not change anything even though the belt is now centered in the pulley.

Since you have the Igus bushings have you tried the following:
- Unload the filament:
- Eliminate fans by:
- - Use Slic3r and disable cooling so that the big fan does not come on.
- - disconnect the power to the small fan
Load a print that is a rectangle with the following dimensions:
x length:200
y length: 10
z height:5
When you run this print do you get the clicking? Can you slice with and without the color profile?
If the clicking is still there could you slice the print with Cura and run it?
If you still have time, could you run the print, but unplug the extruder stepper motor?
If you want to see if the sound is related to the steppers vs. the carriage and belt, you could run the print but take off the x belt.
The next level of troubleshooting in my mind is to hook up an oscope to each of the steppers and see if the clicks are in sync with any spikes that show up on the oscope.

I think i found the source, anyone with the same issue please confirm.
The clicking sound occurs when moving the x-axis and seems to be caused by the y-axis motor making tiny jerks.
I tried unplugging the y-axis motor and then moving the x-axis back and forth and the sound was gone! Plugging it back it makes it reappear.
I don't know what this means or if it is of concern but it is repeatable on my printer.

It's the same as what MBL does, but for XY plane. It's a result of XYZ calibration. Your assembly is most likely slightly skewed and what you see is skew compensation. 😎
You can't get rid of it unless you assemble the frame precisely.

It is the idler in my case. The belt twists as the idler has play in it. The sign for this is tiny particles of belt debris on the smooth rods. If you have belt debris you, you have a tracking issue not a motor issue. Hope this helps.

mine has started this exact issue. i have a spare motor i will test with to see if its the motor going bad or not. when i habe the time to do that i will let you know the result!

i have this very same issue, couldn't completely fix it yet, did you find a solution?

I also hear a loud clicking sound when the bed moves backwards on the Y axis. I have tried to pinpoint from where the noise is coming exactly listening from all sides with my ear close to the printer, but I cannot pinpoint it precisely. It does not sound right to me though 😕 , so I am a bit nervous about it. I may have tightened the cable moving the bed along the Y axis too much, that is all I can think off.

So I decided to disassemble bit by bit to see when the clicking sound would stop. Removing the belt, dit not do it, when moving the bed back and forth manually I could still hear the sound. So it definitely did not have anything to do with the motor... Eventually I narrowed it down to one of the bearings on the rod which has the two bearing... Turns out the screws were a fraction too tight. When I loosened them and I moved the axis I could hear like a little pop. After reassembling everything and calibrating again, the noise is gone. What I should not have done though is loosen the screws on the other rod as well. I can now hear those move a little when printing. You really have to get everything JUST right 😮 !

Came here looking for a solution to this. Mine just started making the rhythmic clicking noise when the x axis moves. I can print the Prusa logo which makes a clicking when only the x-axis is moving, not the Y. Belt doesn't seem to be rubbing anywhere. Cleaned the toothed gear for the extruder. Still have a clicking noise. Ran XYZ calibrate, results are perpendicular, so that doesn't seem to be it. Very odd.
