change esteps

I am in the process of calibrating my mk2. I need to change the esteps for the extruder, but i cannot find them anywhere in the LCD menu's and I get no response from the Gcodes

anyone have an idea how to do this ?

Re: change esteps

unfortunately there is no official firmware released with the extruder calibration enabled, so you need to do it using a terminal.
the usual way works with firmwares above 3.0.10 but not with the actual, officially released 3.0.12 (because they disabled storing the extruder steps in the eeprom, for compatibility purposes with the multi material kit).

not necessarily. unless you're using an old firmware or exactly 3.0.12 (3.0.12 RC1 or 3.0.12 RC2 will do the job as well), you can store the values inside the eeprom and you're done. no need to put it in the printer profile.

Why? It's the best place for it. Actually, if your slicer allows you the option, it is better to include within material G-Code as different filaments may require different E steps.

If you really want it in firmware, then simply recompile the source with your changes.
