Build plate skewed

My buildplate isn't flat, so much that the auto leveling can't even correct it.

I first thought I had a filament problem, but it is now clear that the Z is the problem. Live adjust Z doesn't help.

I made a whole plate calibration .stl based on the one that came with the printer. Some places is fine, some are too high and some are too low.

Do you think it could be the PEI sheet or is there maybe some other way to fix this?

I would suggest double checking to make sure your bed is square. I hope you have a pair of calipers that can measure at least up to 180mm. If you have another 3D printer, you could always try to print some alignment sticks or threaded rod brace. Were you able to finish the Calibrate XYZ? If you did, did it say "All Axis perpendicular"? You may need to lower the PINDA probe if Calibrate XYZ doesn't work (one corner of the top nut at a time). It is unlikely that the PEI sheet is causing adhesion problems. But you can always clean it with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol.

In my Alignment sticks I do have some Z-Frame feet that can help prop up the Z-Frame while you adjust the center nuts around the Z-Frame.

There is an adjustment in the calibration menu to allow you to fix front/rear/left/right nozzle height which will most likely fix your issue.

Looks like you need to lower the nozzle at the front (-50 microns).

I usually use acetone on a gauze pad to clean the bed, do I need to switch?

What plastic do you primarily use to print with? I primarily use PLA (not ABS) so I use Isopropyl Alcohol. Acetone may be good for ABS, but I don't know. Maybe try IPA this once?

Double check that the bolts that screw into the base of the bed are all in securely and pulling the support nuts up tightly.

Also double check that you removed the temporary nuts on the Y-Belt holder bolts and that the bolts are now in the support nuts and pulled tight.

Well, even Josef talked about acetone as a substitute for IPA some days ago.

Since we're talking about pure acetone, and not ABS juice, I do not see why it should be used for PLA only, once it's evaporated, there should be no difference. At least that sounds logical to me.

Double checking the heatbed after dismantle it could help to see if it's the bed itself or some issue with the assembly.

Bah... More problems..

I've been using some vibration dampeners for some time now and I removed them today. The machine is now tilting. The weight is mostly on two of the legs and I can tilt it slightly back and forth between the other two. That might have been the cause of the problems from the start.

By loosening the outer screws on the orange legs, I managed to reduce the tilting a little bit, but not all the way. Tips?

Now I need to raise Z to 210 before every print, if I don't, the machine won't even get through the auto leveling process.

I still managed to get through Calibrate XYZ with no error.

My caliper is only 150mm and I have looked around for a larger one, but I can't find one.

I'm not giving up, but I'm tired... If I could tinker with it myself it wouldn't be a problem, but now I got to wait almost a week before someone can be my arms and hands again. If someone got a spare exoskeleton laying around, I'm interested 😉

Someone made a recent post in the Alignment sticks thread with self aligning corner feet. Maybe those could help a little here? Do you still have your old 3D Printer?

Yeah, learning path is sometime tough, and a good sleeping night is then way more efficient that unproductive obstinacy 😀 😀

My tip here is to loosen the M12 bolts and to tighten each bolt by small steps. It's impressive the effect of the torque you can apply on the whole build when you tight strongly just one bolt !

My second tip is to remove the pads under the corners to replace them by a pack of business cards help to evaluate by sliding them is the weight of the printer is fairly distributed on each corner. Once done, put the pads back.
