Bed preheat error

I bought the printer about 1 month ago and to date I printed the PLA material without any problems. A few days ago I started deciding to print in ABS, and after a few minutes of printing, I received the following error: BAD PREHEAT ERROR.
I checked the electrical connections and it's all ok. the firmware is version 3.0.12.
Anyone can give me advice?

Hello Gianluca!

Have you checked the termistor under the heated bed inside the Kapton tape? The termistor should be in the center of the heated bed and close to the heated bed's surface. The sensor sometimes wanders back into the Rambo box when printing and the wires wasn't fixed to the wire loom.

Hello Henrik, thank you for your reply.

I checked under the bed and it's all ok.
The cable is connected to the Rambo

Re: Bed preheat error

this is what happens when I print the ABS material
- I left for 15 minutes as you see in the photo and kept the temperature constant (Photo STEP1)
- I started printing and about 5 minutes to keep the temperature ( Photo STEP2)
- Then the temperature began to decrease ( Photo STEP3)
- Then stops printing with the error

If your room is particularly cool, you might benefit from turning up the voltage to the hotbed to 12.5V (potentiometer is on the PSU).

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Re: Bed preheat error

Hello Gianluca,

did you use filament cooling (fan) during printing? I faced the same problem with PETG and the issue was the filament fan was cooling down the bed. If I set it to disabled. Then the issue went away.
Hope this will help.

Disabling the fan isn't always an option. I've had the same problem before on small parts with the fan running, my solution (until the firmware is patched to fix this) is to just move the part to a corner of the bed to print. Then the fan doesn't cool the center where the thermistor is so much.

The scar is unlikely to be the problem unless it is right above the bed thermistor location and not covered by the print. Are you printing with a MK2S or a MK3? There is a known bug in the 3.5.1 firmware for the MK3 which will be corrected in the next release.
