Bed Preheat Error

Hello,

Whenever I try to preheat the printer the bed temp displayed on the LCD never goes above 21C (room temp). Now the bed still feels like it heats to hotter than 21C before the LCD displays "Bed Preheat Error". I have checked the thermistor port on the board and the connections good. The leads soldered to the bed also don't seem damaged at all granted I haven't measured them with a voltmeter yet. The red LED on the bed is also on until the LCD displays preheat error.

Can someone please help? Are there any rated voltages I can reference if I need to measure the board and/or the bed? I believe they should be both around 12V. This is a fairly new RAMBO board too, so I don't think it's the board.

Re: Bed Preheat Error

if the thermistor was open circuit, or no thermistor was plugged in, I would expect the temperature to show around 11 degrees centigrade.

so it looks like you have something connected...

raise the extruder to say 100 mm
if you have a hair drier, blow hot air on the bed near the middle, and see if the bed temperature changes, if it doesnt, try blowing hot air in the extruder heat block.

if the bed temperature now increases, you have your thermistor in the wrong socket

best wishes, Joan
