Bed level fading feature

Does the Prusa MK2/S have a bed level fading feature? If not, is there a way to somehow add/enable it, assuming it's built on the Marlin firmware? Marlin has it. Essentially what it does is allow the mesh leveling compensation (constant z movement) to gradually fade out over x number of layers (set by the user). So on layer 1, z is following the curvature of the bed exactly (or as close as possible). On layer 2 and with every subsequent layer, this bed leveling would gradually fade, so by the time the printer gets to layer x (10 might be a good number), the nozzle is no longer following the bed and z is no longer moving. This is very beneficial for 2 reasons:
1. Nicer looking walls (theoretically).
2. If a print gets interrupted half way and I need to resume, I can't rerun the mesh bed level obviously since there are parts on the bed, so the printer will resume with the assumption that the bed (and existing printed object) is level, and it will resume the print but the nozzle will not follow the mesh it was following prior to the print interruption. So the new layer will not be parallel with the last layer printed prior to the interruption.

If the bed level fading feature is not possible on this printer, is there an acceptable solution to point #2 above?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Bed level fading feature

Hello all,

This is a feature I'm really interested in as well, especially having just lost a few very long prints that would have been recoverable if I were using Marlin.

In Marlin, this feature is M420.

Any hints on this?
