Assembled MK2S, some issues

Yesterday I received my assembled MK2S yesterday (AWESOME!). I unboxed it and followed the directions for the 'Assembled' printer.

  • Start

  • Remove shipping helpers

  • Remove test print

  • Calibrate Z

  • Unload filament

  • Load new filament (silver PLA that came with it)

  • Print Prusa Logo

  • Print
  • The Prusa Logo came out ok. It wasn't great but it was ok. The first layer had some issues. It also had issues adhering, coming up on one of the edges. Then I tried the batman emblem. Same thing, it was ok, not great. There appeared to be some warping and the first layer wasn't great. Then I did marvin, it did the feet fight, look good but I went away for 5 minutes and came back to spaghetti. It looked like due to adhesion issues, it came free and was being pushed around.

So there are some issues. But most of them are things that can be fixed fairly easy. I think the adhesion, some of the warping, the bad first layer is due to cooling or printing too hot. I notice the PLA is printing at 220, which I usually tend to print at 200-205. The bed was a hotter was 60 (might have been 50, hard to remember) when I tend to run at 50.

The main issue is that the bed itself looks like it is warped. It appears to be bowed in the middle, slightly, not a lot but just by enough. That is also contributing to the adhesion, curling issues.

Now I haven't done anything else. I know there are settings to adjust and tune it in for these conditions. That isn't an issue, I can do that. Before I went that route though, I wanted to first see if a "warped bed" is normal. I know it can be normal for other printers but didn't think I would have an issue considering the sturdiness and thickness of this bed. Also because it was an assembled kit, which was packed fairly well.

    Any other thoughts?

I have watched the video and also looked at this. I am aware that I can make adjustments to account for the issues and correct them. The instructions for an "Assembled and Tested" MK2S was what I linked above. The video, however, is technically for what you are supposed to do if you a "Kit".

The other issue is that the bed is warped. So this is more of a question of "if" this a normal thing for an assembled, tested machine.

I have had almost identical issues- first printer shipped with bad bearings the second printer was about the same on the bearings and the bed is warped. I also have adjusted via software and it still is not enough. I used this calibration test which is awesome , there is just not enough in the software to make it right. So far I have not had good luck with Prusa and I think they have changed over to cheaper pats and bearings since becoming a standard in the 3D printing world. Quite honestly I have not been impressed at all so far with the machine especially purchasing a pre-assembled kit.

How do you have 2 printers shipped out with bad bearings, one with a warped bed and bad looking prints for the printed parts these machines are made from? Seems like quality is suffering just to meet demand which is a really bad road to go down.
