Anyone know whats going on with the Quad Extruder?

Just wondering if there are any Beta testers that can give some feedback on how it is going with the Quad extruder.

Ordered Kit and Extruder in October, received the printer as expected but just chatted with Support and they are saying that the Quad extruder will not be shipping until March (even though the e-Shop page says that they will start shipping in January).

Also a little miffed that they debited my account when the item was ordered rather than when it was shipped (debiting on shipment is usually considered a better practice). A 4 week wait on the Printer wasn't that bad, but the Quad extruder slipping from December to January to March and the entire time they have the money in the bank is irritating.

Just wondering if March is a reasonable target date or if I should ask for a refund and wait until it is actually available.?

Nice! How much longer, on average, does it take to print?

There is no "average"; it's all model dependant. The time increase will depend on the number of tool changes in the print plus the printing of the wipe tower brim plus any layers where tool changes are not currently required but will be in future layers.

And of course, extra perimeters where 2 filaments join.

Model design and orientation can greatly affect the print time. For testing, the maximum number of tool changes possible are being used.

Yes, you need a lot of patience and you need to be able to solve problems and understand why prints failed. I currently have one filament which fails to unload properly for no obvious reason. Other filaments from the same manufacturer work perfectly.

Have to say though that the most reliable filaments I have tested are those from Prusa Research, but other testers have had great success with other filaments.
