Re: ABS+ printing problems

I used Slic3r, but this Hatchbox ABS uses lower temperatures than what Prusa has for their ABS setup, so I have a different filament setup for it.

Someone recommended using the 'high power' stepper motor setting in the Tune menu, so I am now using that, too.

Yes, it definitely is a learning process...

Thank you!

...And remember, "failing is learning" 🙂
quite true, but not only on your own failures... that's why sharing experiences is so important here. we all learn a little bit of it 😉 .

Re: ABS+ printing problems

It is almost always a Z problem with many 3d prints especially with long prints and ABS ie dimensional'y long. They lift and the layers can lift. ABS has always been a difficult printer filament. Its days are numbered, better materials are coming along and less toxic.

Meanwhile, try using a better raft. It has overcome some issues I had with a print or two. Including ABS. I use Simplyfy3d across all my 3D printers. Rafts are great with Simplyfy3d. Your raft is too high and poor. From your 2nd picture.

Dang this thread was abandoned by the original poster long ago. He rudely spawned another thread. Just noticed!!!! Doh.
