A couple of questions

Hi,
I'm interested in purchasing the assembled version of the MK2S. Is there a warranty on the printer and if yes for how long? Can I use the printer pretty much out of the box or do I have to tinker anything? I've seen quite a few people having issues with a warped printing bed. Is that being tested before it's shipped out? Sorry for all those questions.
Kind regards
Phil

Re: A couple of questions

You will likely get a variety of answers to this question.

In my mind, all 3D printing takes tinkering. This is a very nice full featured hobby level machine at a great price. It is not turn key. But it can be a very reliable work horse, if you are willing to tinker with it. If you really need a truly turn key solution, the best I have found (at work) is the Form2 from https://formlabs.com and the Lulzbots.

But as you can see these are at a much higher price point.

This machine will work right out of the box, IF you take the time to calibrate it correctly. This forum has lots of advice on how to do that, and it will prevent a lot of frustration. It will require some tinkering, but produces wonderful prints, and is very affordable.

I am very pleased with mine, and recommend it highly. But it does require a learning curve and some tinkering (which was half the fun for me).

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Re: A couple of questions

I had to do almost no tinkering with mine after I assembled it. There was about nine and a half hours tinkering with it before printing, though!

But! More to the point, I can't find how many months/years this warranty lasts. Does anyone know?
