My printer is on 3.8, what benefit would I get from 3.9?
Most of the changes seem to relate to parameter name changes...

The headline mentions Octoprint compatibility but the detail doesn't mention it.

I'm already using Octoprint and am curious what's more compatible 😉

I'm guessing it's simply the outputting of error on the serial interface in the event of thermal runaway.

I have to agree. I've looked at all of the commits to the repo since 3.0.8 and none of of them mention anything about octoprint.

My guess would be they're talking about the 'If thermal runaway error is triggered, error code is sent via serial to let host know what's going on.' when they mention Octoprint compatibility, since that issue has been brought up recently with regard to Octoprint.

So how do you get the new firmware into the printer?

Hi Michael,

use the PRUSA FirmwareUpdater which is installed with the windows driver package (prusa3d_win_1_7_4.exe)

I submit it to my Octoprint box (I know I posted about this around here somewhere how to do this).

Dimensions PNG

and an 8 inch (200mm) or greater caliper is recommended.

Thanks, Thomas and Ayourk.

I'm allergic to Windows 😀

and I 'd like to stick as much as possible to just using the LCD rotary selector for everything.

Is there a way to use the SD card for the update? If not, then maybe it could be introduced in the next update.

I'm a full blown Linux user myself (Ubuntu Xenial). I have Linux on my desktop where I do my modeling, slicing, etc. and I have Ubuntu Mate on my Raspberry Pi 3 running OctoPrint as if it were an OctoPi install.

There is NO way (currently) to update the printer via SD card. I have yet to discover an Arduino project where the software can update itself without serious hassles.

Finally got around to updating, just thought I'd point out that FirmwareUpdater v2 gave me a ton of errors after a few seconds, v1 worked perfectly.
