Variable layer height MM printing
Here's my first attempt; a 2C Marvin with layer heights from 0.1 to 0.3mm:
Not brilliant quality part, but the tower is more important at the moment.
The tower is completely re-designed and optimised; each filament can have different purge volumes and no sparse infill on layers where there is a tool change.
Sliced with KISS, automatic layer height control (via "Stepover") and with "PreloadVE".

Second test print with offset purge; the gold (translucent ) filament has twice the purge volume as the blue.
Also increased retraction to 2.5mm. The stringing is now limited to the return from part to model (and I have a fix for that).

Variable height and variable purge.
Layers 0.1 to 0.32mm, variable purging for translucent and opaque filaments. Average layer height 0.104mm

How difficult is it to smooth the wipe tower? It would make a great ruby, jade, and sapphire block temple pedestal.

I hadn't even thought about it; I was actually quite excited about being able to print the model and the tower was irrelevant.
But, now you have mentioned it, it really doesn't need that much work...
And the good news is that you too can print purge towers just like this...
A KISSlicer "PRO" license is now available for a free trial; you only pay if you want to keep it. And I can let you have a package with profiles and post-processor, also free of charge!
