Using a different nonsoluble plastic as support interface layer
With soluble materials being expensive or hard to work with, I was wondering if anyone has tried something making a PLA print but using something more common like PETG or ABS as the interface layer for support. I assume mixing plastics wont bond as well and may snap off with a more clean finish. Would the higher temperatures of the other materials end up deforming PLA?
Excited to start multimaterial printing!

Interesting idea. try it and tell us about it 🙂

My upgrade was missing some parts when it came in but I'll definitely give it a try

I use the break away support from rigid.ink.
Tested it on a few small parts now and it works great. Just starting my first big print with it as support, tomorrow i may have pictures for you.
The break away support is brittle, so it breaks away easily.
