Questions on MM operating procedure
Hi,
Due to a lack of manual currently, I feel a bit lost and have a couple of questions on some details.
I use the Slic3r Prusa Edition version_1.35.5 on linux.
Edited:
Ok, so I found some answers on re-reading the FAQ. I seem to have missed a page there.
- What is the difference between Mk2 MM single extruder and MK2 multimaterial profiles?
Which one do I use for normal operation if I have the 4MM upgrade?
Answer: Seems like you use the single extruder mode for any prints with one color, and no colorprint.
Correct?
- Do I always have to use the post processor? With both profiles?
No Idea, still not clear to me.
- If I want to use the colorprint method, but with the MM upgrade, which slicing profile do i use?
And do I use the colorprint website first, and then the MM post processor? or the other way around?
Or skipp the post-processor?
Looks like you use the Multimaterial profile, then the gcode in colorprint, and then the post-processor.
- If using the colorprint method, how does the switching to the next extruder work?
Does it just pause, and I have to do it manually as before? does it happen automagically?
No Idea will try later.
- When switching the active extruder in the printer UI, nothing happens with the filaments.
Which means, that the then active extruder just clicks because the former filament is still blocking the path.
Am I doing something wrong here?
How do I use the 'switch active extruder' menu option correctly?
No info in the FAQ on this.
thanks in advance for any answers 🙂

Also, one additional question:
How do I use the pre-processor for multimaterial on linux?

The postprocessor is not needed anymore if you use the latest Slic3r Prusa Edition beta.
