Octoprint Error:Line Number is not Last Line Number+1

Basically this - https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3-f30/octoprint-issues-and-tips-t13156.html
But for MK2 MMU

Linear advance is not letting me complete any prints through octoprint. Is there any chance mk2 users could get a firmware update to fix this issue like the mk3 got ?

I've had the same thing happen to me with a single material print on my MMU.

I'm not familiar with the fixed issue on MK3, is there a work around?

I believe the mk3 has received a firmware upgrade which either disables linear advance or does something to improve communication. Im hoping someone will see this thread and release a patch to solve this issue.

Apologies if I missed this already: have you had this problem with multi-material prints? So far it only happens when I use Slic3r PE and the `Original Prusa i3 MK2 MM Single Mode` profile. 3 times this weekend.

I don't seem to get it when I use S3D (which doesn't have linear profiles AFAIK). I use this profile after pre-loading E1 with the filament I want.

Yes i have this issue happening all the time with PE slic3r, both multi and single. I dont have s3d so im stuck with slic3r unfortunately. Im going to try connecting mk2 to my pc directly and see if the same issue occurs.

I'm about to kick off a 3 hour print but when that's done I'll save something in single extruder mode to the SD card and see if that reproduces it.

I've had some luck with disabling linear advance in the firmware. I ran a 30 hour 4-color Adalinda (a wing broke and I had to stop) with no weirdness. Before it would crap out within a few hours.

Is there any way you could link a guide to how to do it ? Ive tried everything and i cant seem to get it to finish a print.
Thanks in advance

Re: Octoprint Error:Line Number is not Last Line Number+1

Here's the basic idea (thanks, Wolfgang)

http://zaribo.org/blog/how-to-compile-and-modify-prusa-firmware-part-i-setting-up-the-environment/

In step 2, use the 3.1.0 firmware source instead. In step #5, replace the file they use with this one, assuming you have the newer 1.3 Rambo board.

1_75mm_MK2-MultiMaterial-RAMBo13a-E3Dv6full.h

You'll need to change line #328 from this:

#define LIN_ADVANCE

to this:

// #define LIN_ADVANCE

Compile and upload. This will completely remove LA from the firmware. M900 will no longer work and will give an error, so remove it from your filament scrips. You'll also need to adjust your speeds back to the old slower speeds.

I take no responsibility for bricked machines. This has worked for me, but I make no guarantees. Hopefully Prusa will issue an official fix soon. I realize they have their hands full, but working machines should be a priority.

Late to the party but I have more information to contribute hopefully for anyone else in the future. Some articles are referencing this post https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/issues/2285 .

Another article asked for the user to change USB ports. I tried this first and the printer seems to be working again. Try different USB ports first. This being the problem I would have tried printing with the SD card before attempting any of the more complicated solutions referenced in other articles.

The issue with my printer was as soon as I clicked print I would get that Line Number error and the print head and heated bed would turn on and reach their target temperature. But the printer would just sit there until I reset the printer through the software or the hardware button. The printer would be unresponsive except through the control pendant.

Other articles ask to change Ping Pong modes, which I don't think is available in Pronterface. I tried Repetier Host with Ping Pong on and off, no luck. They also ask to change baud rates, no success there either.

Good luck.
