Nice multi-filament models

For those looking for some test models to print, we are very fortunate in that roman.t has generated some excellent models which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/cipis/designs

hope that the mm-kit comes along with a few of the nice models they used to promote the kit.
about roman.t's models:
is there a cookbook available, that tells me what i need to do and which programs i need to use to get from the provided *.stl files to a *.gcode file that i can feed the upgraded printer with ?
and by the way: what the heck are *.amf (additive manufacturing file) files for ? which software do i need to deal with them (and why) ?

http://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/Gcode+preparation+for+Multi+Material/366 (its probably "work in progress")

AMF file - saved plate from the Slic3r with all parts, assignment of extruders, etc.
You dont need it, but its easier if you have it. In other words, you dont have to do steps 2-5 from the link above.

Just one thing to add regarding Roman's (and a lot of other models).

Slic3r is very good at resolving errors in models where other slicers are not. When using KISS to slice the models I run all the files through NetFabb basic to fix those errors before printing. When printing models which contain errors, those errors become more obvious in the finished model when you print with different colours.

step by step things are getting clearer now.

@PJR: did you compile the mm-firmware with your G80 amendment as well ? i expect you did.
any things to consider when replacing the G80 routine inside the marlin_main.cpp ?
and, by the way: did you disable the front/right/left/back adjustment dialog inside the ultralcd.cpp, or did you leave it as a red herring there ?

Yes. 3.0.12-RC1

No, I commented out the original code (with /* ,,, */) and dropped my code straight in after the commented codes.

No, I left it there; on my "ToDo" list - hoping that Pavel will "fix" the original firmware so I don't have to look at that part...

PJR: All models are repaired in MeshMixer. No issues in Cura/S3D/Slic3r. But good point, I will check it in netfabb/3Dbuilder (should use netfbabb repair engine)

Roman - it really is not necessary when using Slic3r; it understands the models very well and fixes them. KISS on the other hand, just marks the errors then prints them... Not ideal.

I dont like errors, so I checked with netfabb and uploaded repaired Aztec, Bart, Beaver, Bender, Kitten, Turtle, Chameleon and Mike.

Thanks for pointing that out, I will check it before uploading.
