MMU Post Processor decreasing temps after first layer

Hello, I am trying to print with carbon fiber PLA with the multi material setup. It is my understanding you're supposed to run your gcode file through the supplied multimaterial post processor. when I do that, the temperatures keep decreasing from 255 C which is what I set it to for both materials in the Slic3r program, all the way down to 205 which causes my nozzle to clog. It's getting very frustrating having to watch my printer and override on every single material change.

I do not understand why the g-code is telling it to change temps down to 205 on every single material change, it makes no sense to me.

I am using m3d Carbon fiber Pla at 33% carbon fiber for my main part and just normal cheap PLA for my support material.

( I know pla isnt supposed to have to be printed at those temperatures, but ever since I did the MMU (2 days ago) the material will not stick unless I have it at least at 250) 😥

The post processor was only used in the very early versions of Slic3r MMU. If you are using a modern version you do NOT need the post processor.

I think 250 is way to high for the MMU. Is your Live Z set well? Is your bed very clean (try acetone). And try a more normal temperature.

I’ve spent a lot of time meticulously cleaning the bed, and I still have a very hard time convincing the material to stick at normal temps. I started back at low temps and worked my way up until I got a decent adhesion on my first layer and tried printing some small dice with that, it was at 240C and the tip clogged about half way through the print.

Oh yes, my Z height is fine. If I adjust it any lower, the material starts to mush out around the nozzle causing a ripple effect on the first layer.

I haven’t had this printer long, but I’ve been messing around with 3D printers for several months now, this is my first one that really seams to do a good job, but for some reason, I’m pretty much guaranteed to get a clogged nozzle unless I’m over 245C or so 🙁

I assumed the word "meticulously" implied I had tried cleaning agents such as acetone and alcohol. Seems to be doing well with large parts, but when I try to print small footprints, it tends to knock off the part within a few layers.

I assumed the word "meticulously" implied I had tried cleaning agents such as acetone and alcohol. Seems to be doing well with large parts, but when I try to print small footprints, it tends to knock off the part within a few layers.

First layer adhesion: 1) Good Live Z, 2) Clean bed.
If you have done both of these, then the model has too small a surface area, and you should add brim, to help it stick.
