MMU compatibility with MK2S and MK2.5 upgrades
I'm thinking of upgrading my MK2 MMU to an MK2S and then MK2.5. What I can't figure out is if the MMU upgrade is compatible with the other two, specifically the print-head assembly. I know I would gain the benefit of all the body upgrades but what about the print-head?
Re: MMU compatibility with MK2S and MK2.5 upgrades
It looks to me that if I want to fully upgrade my MK2 MMU that I would need to get the MK2 to MK2S kit, the MK2/S to MK2.5 kit, and the Multi Material upgrade kit from MK2 to MK2.5/MK3.
Right?
Re: MMU compatibility with MK2S and MK2.5 upgrades
Hi,
I didn't bother with the Mk2s Upgrade, just ordered the Mk2.5 and MMU Mk3 upgrade...
My rods seem to still be OK, from the original Mk1 setup
I modified the extruder strain relief using the mk2 parts and a long bolt to extendthesupport for the cable bundle further from the extruder, additionally I stiffened the strain relief with a short additional length of Nylon to reduce the point loading right behind the extruder. and left it at that.
I had already changed the heat bed cables for more flexible ones, following a breakage,,, this led to me revising the y axis strain relief too...
being a cheapskate i saved my money on the mk2s upgrade
Best of luck with the upgrades.

Seems about right, at least it's the one I'm following (already did the MK2S upgrade before the MM one) 🙂
