Marlin 1.1.6 and MMU

Hi,

A month ago I received your Multi-Material Upgrade kit and built a CORE XY printer to take advantage of your great design. The Multiplexer, Extruder assembly and four-in-one unit was successfully mated to my build. I am running a MiniRambo and evertything is ready to go but I am on hold due to Marlin's latest build.

At this point I was wondering if and when, you will port/merge your MMU portion of the code into Marlin so folks like myself can leverage off your design.

Really appreciate any help to get this up and running. Big fan of your development vision.

R,
Doug Walmsley

Think you got this a little backwards, Prusa dont merge anything into Marlin, the Marlin dev's does that 🙂
MMU "commit" has been ready for a long time but at the moment the Marlin dev's has decided to not merge it.

There is a Marlin 1.1.7 coming very soon, i dont thing you will se it there, it might pop up in the 2.0 release at some stage 🙂

I am waiting for it just like you 😉

Make a "ISSUE" at the Marlin github, might speed things up a little 😉

Have a look here:

@douglas.w2 , Did you get your corexy working with MMU1? I am doing the same thing and before trying to integrate MMU2, I may try to integrate MMU1.
The Marlin support for MMU2 is not there yet, though people are working on it.
THe MMU1 support is there.

@kursat.u

Yes I did implement it into my HyperCube and Marlin 1.1.9 as it's FW. I ran into jamming issues with the 4-in-1 adaptor and sincepulled it in an attempt to use MMU2. Sadly there is a stark difference between MMU1 and MMU2 which Marlin currently doe not support for AVR boards. There is one person out there work to roll into Marlin 2.x MMU2 but this code only supports ARM (32bit) processors. So my Einsy board limits me from testing Revilor's ( https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Marlin/issues/11859?_pjax=%23js-repo-pjax-container ) code att.

I posted in this forum a request for Prusa to activate CoreXY portion of their code to allow folks like me to use the MMU2 on my Einsy board. I feel Marlin won't implement this on the 8-bit side as their code has hit the limits of the chips processor/memory size/limits.
