Maker Geek PLA and MMU
I've read some comments about Maker Geeks PLA not working well with the MMU. Any one reading here have any comments ? I have several rolls and was hoping to continue to use them. Thanks !

I have tried many times to get Maker Geeks PLA to work reliably but to no avail. Jams every time. The print temp for their PLA, at least on my printers, is much higher than any other brand I have. I usually have to print it between 225-230 and when paired with a regular temp PLA it causes issues. I haven;t tried a MM print exclusively using Maker Geeks so it may be possible.

If it needs such a high temperature, it probably needs a modified unload strategy.

Richard , Are you printing "Maker" PLA or "Raptor" PLA ? The raptor does need a lot higher temperature, and probably wouldn't work well with other brands.

Wow ! i print Maker at 210, except white. I can't get white to work at all in the MMU. It keeps forming a blob below the PTFE and jams.

Hello, I print 75% of Maker Geek PLA. I find printing all PLA 240-245 helps. I had a pink type that was clogging a lot, i bumped it from 235 to 245 and it prints wonderful. I also found posts of people on facebook stating go higher 240 or 245.

Seems I was printing at a higher temp. maybe in the 220 range until I changed to a micro swiss plated nozzle. Then I got a lot of stinging and backed the temp down, and thinks went well on the MK2s.. But I've given up for the time being trying to get the Maker Geeks white to print with the MMU. I just don't have time to keep fussing with it. I got a roll of white Hatchbox, and life is good so far.

Before my MMU I tried and tried to get Maker Geeks "Maker Series" PLA to print but had nothing but failure after failure. Clog after clog. I was using a hardened steel nozzle though and I think that was the problem because...
It prints fine on my MK2 MMU!
I mean, don't get me wrong: I still think the "Maker Series" PLA sucks... Hard! That stuff measures a diameter of 1.73-1.81. The inconsistency is just ridiculous!
I've heard nothing but good things about the "Raptor" series PLA and I've had nothing but success with their "Crystal" PETG (even though the transparent isn't very and the other colors always print lighter than they appear on the spool). The diameter though... Ugh. Results in uneven layer lines which drives me nuts. I see it and think my hot end is loose again (well, it is right now but that's not important) but then I have to remind myself that Maker Geeks "Maker Series" PLA is just plain garbage. Super cheap though! I paid $12.50/kg for that stuff, haha.
For reference, I'm printing something in their purple stuff right now at 235°C (as recommended on the side of the spool). Seems to be coming along fine.
When it comes to "Maker Series" PLA... If you're having issues crank up the temp! I haven't even seen this stuff boil & pop yet and I've cranked it up to 250°C before (on my hardened steel nozzle).
