No, I found it in post "Bowden length configurable"

Re: hungry Festo couplers

My MK3 and MMU are on order, delivery at end of January, so I'm lurking and learning here.

I can well visualize the problem here described with the Festo's. Does it occur at both ends of the Bowden, or predominantly at one?

Though obviously longer than the Festo, might this fitting from McMaster Carr be a solution?:

Rotating Push-to-Connect Tube Fitting for Air Adapter, for 4 mm Tube OD, M5 x 0.8 mm Male Pipe, found at
https://www.mcmaster.com/#52115k221/=1ali5yv

I believe I have gathered that there is some way to adjust for the length of the specific path from the feed to the extruder nozzle but I don't know the details. It just occurred to me that I suppose I could look at the current MMU manual...

In my experience, the cutting seems to happen predominately at the extruder Festo couplers and not at the multiplexer Festo couplers.

That McMaster Carr coupler is a really cool find! The fact that the Bowden tube would be allowed to rotate on bearings seems like it would solve this issue. The only question I have is whether it would be able to hold onto the Bowden tube strongly enough, but it seems likely that it would be able to.

It's a little pricey at $16.44 unfortunately, but it might be worth it if there isn't another good solution. I'm trying other solutions out right now, I may pursue this if the other solutions don't work out.

These fittings do look nice ! Would it really be necessary to change the length of the tubing ? I was thinking you could use the load feature on the menu, then under "settings" run the extruder until filament comes out the nozzle before starting a print. Would that work ? Thanks !

Hi David, you can use different length bowden tubing without changing the configuration settings, but it complicates operation and will cause frustration.
