Grinding filament

Hi all,

I was beginning to like the multimaterial upgrade but now it is causing a ton of problems. I can't print ABS (IC3D) without it grinding the filament within the first layer. On any extruder. I even lined up the extruder wheels with the filament path, tried lowering and raising the tension, unspooling the filament for the printer, raising the temp to 270. It just doesn't work. I can push the filament through easily by hand. Any ideas? I'm getting to the point where I want to just downgrade it because it actually worked then.

David

Re: Grinding filament

I feel your pain =(, I also had the same thing. The thing is, the spring tension for the bondtech extruder are so sensitive. One turn tighter/loose will have it grinding the filament.

Maybe you could try this method?

Try loosening the spring tension screw with the allen key, push the filament into the extruder, use your hand to tighten the screw until you feel the screw has more resistance than before. I think this method will define a good spot for gripping the filament.

Report back how well it does yeah? =D
