Getting a loud beep when printer tries to print MM object

I've upgraded the FW to 3.x, and am using the objects from drivers 2.1.3. I've build the MM unit and have successfully printed single-filament objects. THis is my first try for the MM Marvin using ex1 and ex3. I load marvin part 1, then dbl-click on it and Add Part, adding file marvin part 2. The marvin object is displayed on the preview screen as 1 object, and I assign ex1 to one part, and ex3 to the other. When I slice it, I clearly see the different parts as I scroll through the layers. So far so good.

Then when I send it to my printer (Octopi) and print it, the printer begins by placing a block of filament in the front left corner of the bed. It then moves to the right and prints another couple lines of filament, then stops with a loud beep. After that it just sits there doing nothing. I finally have to start the cooldown to turn off the extruder heater and raise the Z to get the tip away from the bed. Nothing else happens.

Any idea what is amiss?

Here is what Slic3r looks like:

The slic3r gcode generates a command to print a test patch of each colour, it then beeps to alert you to check the filament has actually printed, and allows you a while to remove these test swatches, if they will encroach on the actual print area for the model...

this works for me from SD...

I have never used Octoprint,

but I understand that it times out if there is no dialogue with the printer...

at the time of the Beep it's likely that the intercom goes quiet for a while...

I understand that you can add some commands to a table of some sort, for long duration commands

this may be where you need to look

It will print the test swatches a the front of the bed (one for each filament used) and then will beep to let you know to check the swatches to make sure all the extruders are working. You should have all the swatches filled in, hopefully with all the colors represented (this may not happen, it's OK as long as all the extruders were feeding).

With Octoprint, you need to click on the "Resume" button on the Octoprint screen. The button changes from "Pause" to "Resume" after the beep. Click it.

Wow. okay. That'd explain it. I must have missed the instructions on how to do the resume.
I'll give that a shot. Thanks!
