Soluble interface with Meshmixer supports?

From two articles on Blog:

I have an MK2SMMU. In order to save filament, I want to greatly reduce the support structures through Meshmixer, then use the soluble interface feature of the latest Slic3r. Is this even possible? Thanks.

There is already a function in Slic3r to place the soluble filament just at the interfaces. It may be though, that the amount of soluble filament wiped into the wipe tower will be significantly higher than the amount of filament actually used for the interfaces, so the trick here is to limit the number of layers with soluble interfaces.

Thanks, I guess I knew that. What I wanted to do was use the tree supports from Meshmixer with soluble interfaces from Slic3r. Turns out I can make the supports from Meshmixer take so little material that making them from soluble isn’t so bad.
