ngen layer adhesion issues in MMU mode

I've been experimenting a bit with my MMU and there is something I don't understand.

I was trying to print ColorFabb ngen and PLA at the same time using my MMU. PLA as support material in extruder 4. Default filament settings. The printing itself went fine, but my ngen had horrible layer adhesion issues. I could just peel the layers apart.

Next I tried only printing the ngen (for both object and support), same settings, so single material print. In this case the ngen layer bonding was perfect.

I don't understand how this is possible as in both cases the ngen was printed with the same hotend temperature? I even tried printing the PLA at 230 (ngen prints at 240) to keep the temp delta as small as possible, even if this wouldn't change a lot since I checked and the temperature increase at the nozzle is finished long before it finishes printing the purge block, so on the object itself the nozzle and filament have the right temperature for correct layer adhesion.

Currently printing with ngen temperature at 250 to see what happens.

Does anyone understand why this is happening?

Hi,

How did your experiements end?
Are you printing nGen without fan? I often also experience general issues with layer adhesion.

so the Ngen isn't sticking to the pla?

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Hi,

My nGen problem is in between nGen layers even in non-MMU2 prints.
Typically running at 230-240 deg and 85-90 deg bed.
