Can the heatbreak from MK2S be used on MMU

I have the MK2S (kit) with MMU upgrade. I printed for a long time with the MK2S for a long time and had relatively few issues. The MMU upgrade went well and was a lot of fun. I got several fantastic prints until the time that I got a huge print blob with PLA that worked itself back up to at least the heatsink. Removing that I disconnected the thermister and had to solder that back together. After that it completely clogged on one of the filament swaps. On the clog I've tried needles from the top and from the bottom. From the depth I was able guess that the blockage was about the bottom of the heatsink. I've removed the heatsink and the blockage is actually completely in the heatbreak, near the top. Since that printer blob I've only had bad luck.

My question is if anyone knows if I can simply replace the heatbreak, and maybe everything below that, with the heatbreak that I removed as part of the upgrade to the MMU? I remember there was a video where Jo mentions in an interview that the E3D hotend had to be customized slightly to allow the repeated insertion of new filament, but I don't remember if that was the heatsink or the heatbreak. Anyone have any experience with this?

I think most of the Mk2S printers shipped with the modified heat break (they were only marked as modified some time later).

However, if you have a good regular heat break, that will work fine anyway. By "good", I mean that there is no (or very small) step between upper and lower 2mm drilling. My 2 Mk2 "regular" heat breaks worked fine after burnishing them with the flutes of a 1.8mm drill bit.

I was able to clear the blockage in my existing heat break and continue printing. I had removed it completely and placed it on a small allen key, which was placed in one end and stopped by the blockage. My plan was to heat it with a heat gun and clean the inside as best I could, but first I needed to heat it until the filament melted. I started heating it and it just started sliding down until the allen key went all of the way through. All I could think was, is that it?
