XYZ calibration fails at point 9

I'm simply trying to keep my MK2 with MMU running until the XL starts shipping.

This all started when the pre-print mesh bed levelling started failing.  It seemed random, but the left side (power supply side) spots would take turns failing.  Based on what I could see the pinda appeared to have failed, so I replaced it.

Because I reset to default during my troubleshooting, I'm prompted to perform the XYZ calibration.  (I tried a print and the nozzle stays a couple of mm above the bed.) The XYZ calibration cycles through the first 4 point and then moves onto the 9 point check. As it approaches point 9 it makes 2 or 3 passes over the circle and then report calibration failed.  It's acting like the pinda isn't close enough to the spot on the print bed.  So I have intentionally raised that side on the bed by almost a mm.  If I bypass the calibration and run the mesh bed levelling, the mesh bed leveling succeeds, but the nozzle is still to high to actually print.

Any ideas on what else to check?  Can the spots on the print bed pickup a magnetic charge that would make the calibration fail?  Should I just sell it for parts now and wait patiently for the XL's?

I had this exact issue recently on the oldest of my Mk2+MMU.  You may be able to solve it by lowering the PINDA.

I believe that the bed does not contain any magnets, just large copper blobs on the PCB that cause the induction sensor to trigger.  This issue has always affected point 9 more than any other; no idea why.

For me, I ended up getting a new bed.  That was not an easy task; there really are none available - this is a shame.  The Mk2+MMU really is an extremely reliable printer.

If you contact support and get them to ask around, they may be able to find you a bed.  They will probably suggest an "upgrade" to a Mk2.5 bed.  This won't work as you won't be able to calibrate at all.  The other option is simply to keep your prints well away from point 9.
