Non planar printing
I've come across this toppic.
There is like a zillion implications and prerequisities.
I would categorize them like this:
1) SW
2) HW
I can probably deal with all software related issues. However I have no idea about my HW. And even if I had, I'd rather rely on someone elses educated advice.
So basically I've got two questions:
1) is it possible to do this using MK2
2) if #1, what other HW issues might I be facing, when making this work?

I don't see any reason it's not possible on any 3d printer. Your primary limitation is interference and obstruction from various parts of the extruder and motion system, so in localized areas you're limited to the depth your nozzle protrudes below the next lowest thing (probably the fan shroud) and on a larger scale, the distance from the nozzle to the lower X rod.
That said (and I have one I keep meaning to try one day) there are adapters you can buy that let you use airbrush nozzles on a 3d printer, which protrude a few mm more and have quite a fine point. My suspicion is that something like that will give you a lot more working room to experiment on the software side.
I'd suggest going slow and starting with very shallow slopes until you get more comfortable with the limitations of your specific setup and what it can do. It's still very much exploratory so I doubt you'll get answers from anyone with a lot of experience on any given printer.
