Z Calibration problem

I'm having a recent problem with my Prusa I3 Mk2, after a horribly failed print (string monster) I tried to recalibrate my Z axis. It works fine on the front 3 points, bouncing up and down...but on the middle 3 points it presses firmly into the bed, pressing it down and grinding on the 3 middle points, but then works on the rear 3 points (not pressing in). Could the bed have warped somehow...I don't know how to fix this. Is getting a new bed an option, how expensive and how hard to swap out are they?

Re: Z Calibration problem

I'm no expert, but beds can run you around $80. You may be under warranty, so it's worth checking with Prusa Live chat.

I actually have a kind of similar problem with my MK2, unleveled bed perhaps causing a few problems. I wouldn't say my bed is as warped as yours but it may help me to see what people say about fixing your warped bed.

I'm sure you've already done this but check and see if your all the screws are screwed in as tight as possible underneath your bed?

Good luck

Aditya
