Z axis get askew during calibration (right Z motor goes up)
Hello,
My printer has been successfully printing about 1km of filament since 2016 (so not a huge usage).
After a failed print last week, I decided to run a Calibration XYZ.
During the calibration of the point 2, the right Z motor goes up making very small abrupt moves.
The left Z motor seems to be working ok and slowly goes down.
After few seconds, the Z axis is not horizontal and gets askew.
My issue looks very similar to https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk2-s-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/calibartion-issue-only-the-right-z-axis-motor-is-spinning-when-calibrating/
FIXING ATTEMPTS:
- I measured the resistance between the red/blue and black/green of both left and right Z motors and got the same value 1.1MOhm.
- I swapped the left and right Z motor connectors on the motherboard: same behaviour with the right motor only.
- I configured to Hi-Power mode: same behaviour with the right motor only.
Is there any thing else I could try to debug this issue ?
Thank you,
RE: Z axis get askew during calibration (right Z motor goes up) [solved]
I ended up buying and replacing the right Z motor and it works like a charm now 🙂
However, still can find what was wrong with the previous one 🙄
