Yet another MK2S upgrade question

So I've reviewed the parts list and got everything in  my cart I believe I need to upgrade to the Mk 2.5S+. My question is with the hotend, drive gear and PTFE tube. Do I need to upgrade the hotend since I have a Mk2s? What about the drive gear? The document says to upgrade the PTFE tube with the MK3S+ version but the actual part says it's not compatible with anything except the MK3S. Just want to make sure I'm buying all the correct parts the 1st time and not be through the build partially only to wait for more parts.

Thanks for any info!

RE: Mk2s to mk2.5 upgrade questions

Hey guys recently picked up a mk2s with the mmu1 add on and decided I want to want to upgrade it to a mk2.5s. Don’t think I’m going to bother using the mmu1. I tried to order the parts on Prusa’s website but apparently you can only order the parts if you register with an original receipt which I don’t have. Having issues trying to find somewhere to buy the print bed. Any suggestions where I can order the required parts?

If you contact Prusa Chat, and give them the serial number and the name of the person you got the printer from, they should set you up with a user account!

alternatively, I believe you can obtain the Mk52 12 volt heatbed from Aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33053722822.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4fd17fb0dQVgAP&algo_pvid=c81e769a-3dd1-4b6f-9ba5-8aa9c166c138&algo_exp_id=c81e769a-3dd1-4b6f-9ba5-8aa9c166c138-1

If you leave the Fan check turned off you can use 12 volt fans
Filament sensors and Pinda probes are available on Aliexpress and Ebay

Firmware is available on the Prusa3d.com web page

Hi Randall,
if you do the Mk2 to mk2.5 upgrade your printer will still be a 12 volt powered printer, so the original 12 volt heater will still be satisfactory, if your original hot end is in good condition you can re use it.

I Would suggest that you add a new 12 volt heater and a new hot end thermistor, to your parts list because they can be a bit fragile, and may get damaged during the upgrade. and it would be useful to have spares on hand. (i generally keep spares of these parts on hand, because they sometimes get damaged when clearing Blobs of Doom! Lol...

to the best of my knowledge, if you print the Mk3S+ extruder housing, and use that as the basis for your upgrade, you will need to create an X axis endstop buffer, to operate the mechanical end stop switch. (whether you could use the Mk3S endstop with the mk3S+ extruder  housing, is a question for the Prusa support team, on chat)
If you can use the Mk3S+ parts the PTFE would be
https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/mk3mk3smk3s/1441-hotend-ptfe-tube-mk3s-mmu2s.html

If you use the Mk2 to Mk2.5S extruder housing parts the end stop is included in the files section...
the PTFE for this set up, is
