There is no information regarding the X axis length error.

Hi
Have the same problem on a new MK3.
But here i think the main problem is that the homing is not right he start serching for 1/4 on wrong place
approx 20mm mm to right of the circle 1/4.
Is that possible to change the homing?

I am having this exact same problem. This is the FIRST problem I've run into with my Prusa MK2.

It will find 1 and 2 fine, gets to 3 and does this little stutter and never makes it down to the probe sensor on the bed.

It sounds like the pinda probe could be bad from reading above but not entirely sure.

How do I go about getting official support from Prusa?

I got in touch with support. I ended up ordering a new PINDA Probe. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

I gotta say, after 3 years and this is the first issue I encountered, that's not too bad.

In my case, it ultimately turned out to be a problem with the PINDA probe cabling - it had worn out over time be flexed near the extruder.  The problem was intermittent but persistent and I ended up exploring a lot of other possibilities trying to debug it.  During one of these I noticed how dirty the extruder had become and ended up disassembling, cleaning, and assembling it.  Once back together, the PINDA probe was much less happy and it was clear there was a problem there.

Luckily, I had an old PINDA probe (that was fine) and when I swapped that it, everything got a lot happier.

Due to all the fiddling, I still need to correct some alignment issues with the overall assembly (I reassembled much of the y-axis assembly chasing this problem and some other issues I noticed along the way) but I think I'm on the road to recovery.

I contact "[email protected]" to get support and additional information from Prusa.  This has worked well for me BUT it is remote help and it can be difficult for the people on both ends since a lot needs to be verified, etc.

I have similar problem. My prusa is new. It is a mk2 I buy long time ago. But until now with the coronavirus I have time to use.

The plate calibration and z calibration always is ok.

Also the promface give me repetive values.

The calibration xyz  alwayas fail in xyz calibration. The firs 4 points are ok. But after start the 9 points alwasy fails at 4 point.

I try to replicate using the metal touching the pinda. But there is always detecting with the ligh turn off. Manually I moved the plate around the point 4 and the pinda surprisingly detect more than a point. Looks like a line zone instead a point. 

I believe that the firmware is looking for one point and because find a area return a error. 

I am going to separate the pinda and feed from 5 volts source in order to see if there is some error with the wires or is only a electrical noise with the source.

Any clue appreciate.

I supply with a 5 volts the pinda and still I am detecting more than a point in the right side. So I believe that the pinda is detecting the wiring to preheat the bed.

I cannot see any fault during the manual detection. So I am making a wiring brigde to the pinda to see the the signal during a live function.

I do not know if you have read my multiple past posts on this subject, but I am of the firm opinion the root of this problem lies in the way their grounding is set-up. I may work if everything is assumed to be working at DC. Unfortunately, parts of the PRUSA system are NOT operating at DC!.

Problem:

1) Failure during the of 9 and 4 point calibration.

The reason I suspect this is because, after many failed attempts at calibrating 9 points, I was about to give up. Then I thought to myself: What if this problem is related to an ESR or Grounding issue on the "EINSI RAMBO" PC board?

So as, an experiment, just for fun and because everything else I tried failed, I carefully touched the ground on the "EINSI RAMBO" board. I reran the calibration procedure. Surprisingly, and to my great delight, IT WORKED!!! the system completed without a hitch, the "9 and 4 point calibration," outstanding!

Because of the "grounding experiment" leads me to the firm belief that the fundamental issue is a Grounding of and ESR is not considering necessary procedures related to high frequencies. The wiring and components related to "9 and 4 point calibration" needs a serious re-think.

 

Just to prove my point, I purchased a High-frequency Digital Storage oscilloscope. If I ever find the need to do a RE-calibration of "9 and 4 points," I am prepared to prove my allegation.

During the fail (4 point from 9)

the osciloscope do not show any noise during the fail. the pinda detect the signal strong. Also the suppy 5 volts is always ok.

But after that find the 4 point. The prusa move the pinda 5 milimeters front so the pinda do not detect of course the checkpoint in that position and the prusa stop.

Thinking that z calibration is ok, bed 9 points is ok, promface is ok at only fails when prusa is looking the 4 point, 5 mm outside the mark. The only  root cause is a bug in the firmware. So I need to see source code for the xyz calibration.

Why after find the 4 point the prusa start to looking 5 mm ahead where there is no signal?

It is something that I need looking inside the source code.

 

I also check the timing band marking with a white color in order to see if there is some jumping but that do not happen.
