X and Y axis skip with long prints

With my 2MKs I experience X and Y axis skipping with long prints. It mostly the X Axis. This started out of the blue and is getting worse with every print.

I already checked cabeling and physical setup of both axis - I cannot find any problem.

Also the motors do seem to get particularly hot.
I would be thankful for any help.

Thanks, Marc

Guys, I really need you help!

For long prints I get shifts on the x- or y-axis. Small prints come out fine. The shifts are mostly 1-2 cm and only one axis at a time.

I print form SD Card.
Theres is no physical problem with the movement.
The gcode is fine too.
Prints always run through till the end (allthough mostly I get Spahetti after the shift)
When I print the same file twice, the shift happens at the same height - but will differ between different files.
Problem seems to be stronger with ABS - but it will also happen with PET.

Any idea how to approach debuging?
In my eyes it is either the PSU, the mainboard or the motors??
Shall I swap them???
Where should I start????

Any support is welcome.

Re: X and Y axis skip with long prints

Hi!

Have you found any solution for this? I'm experiencing something very similar to this - massive xy-skips (several centimetres in both directions) that has shown up twice in a row now for two different 10+ mb prints. What in the world could be causing this?

Th only clue is that the filament seems dirty (miscolored) after the skip, but as I've never seen it happen before my eyes I can't really say where could be causing that miscoloration or if it even has anything to do with the skipping.
