Would PTFE tubing with a smaller inner diameter improve retraction?

So I've had no success stopping ooze using an mk2s with hatchbox pla white. Since there is no software solution left I'm looking at hardware. Would smaller PTFE tubing I.D. improve retraction? I've seen posts/blogs stating there is no reverse pressure on these types of printers but surely there must be at least some that can be improved upon?

I looked at some PTFE tubing that had a smaller ID. I was concerned using it would cause issues when doing cold pulls or even changing filament. The nozzle bore diameter is larger than the "better" PTFE tubing being advertised -- eek!

Have you checked the white PLA extrusion for moisture/contamination issues? Extruded filament coming out greater than 0.4mm diameter?

Ya that's my only concern. Hopefully it's not too big an issue.

Interesting you say that because this filament always extruded about .2 mm wider than the set extrusion width (with proper e-steps) and I ended up just setting my nozzle width to 4.2. This filament is old and FUBAR by now and I would not doubt that it contains moisture. However, even when I first received it it had these problems. I live in a humid area so it's possible it sat in some hot warehouse somewhere before it reached me. I wonder if any others have had filament issues in humid areas?

I keep filament in 1.5 gallon zip lock bags with refreshable descant packs rated for 50 gallon containers. Moisture isn't an issue.

Would smaller PTFE tubing I.D. improve retraction?

the answer is technically yes, though to what degree is subject to debate and you may have other issues as already noted.
