updated the wrong firmware on MK2S and now its stuck
Hi,
I have downloaded by mistake the firmware for MK3 and uploaded it into my MK2S.
the updater said it finished successfully but the printer is now completely stuck. the LCD just shows black squares.
when trying to update the right firmware the updater is actually identifying the printer and knows its on COM4, it tries to update but shows this message:

What can be done?
Is there a way to force the right firmware into it?

Try a factory reset and then try to load the correct firmware

this "hard reset" method is not helping.
it never gets to the "Original Prusa i3 Prusa Research" state. whatever you do it stays black squares.
anything else that can be done? or the printer is bricked just by a simple mistake?

What version of drivers and apps are you on?
Are you updating from slic3r?

You tried hard reset with the black button on the Rambo board? It didn't work?
I have done the same thing with my MK2 and black button reset fixed it.

Have you tried having a chat with the Prusa Helpdesk via the chat facility at the bottom right of the shop pages?
Don't rush, the chat window takes a few seconds to materialise...
When I was a Noob... I was rushing to find help, opened the shop window, didn't see chat so went to another window...
If only I had not been in such a hurry, I would have found CHAT sooner...

I just tried to get help from live chat and they basically told me i'm on my own, they cannot help. Spent 90 minutes troubleshooting and then finally he says there's nothing he can do.

Hmmm... that's a bore...
I guess you could try again at a different time of the day, and see if you get a different agent.
Ask them if it is possible to reload the Boot Loader, or program the processor using ICSP (In Circuit Serial Programmer) to overcome this problem...

If you do upload a boot loader, the process will wipe any other program on the Mini Rambo
So hopefully you will then be able to reload a Mk2 Firmware
