recovery (recalibration without throwing away what's printed already) after x-axis jump

I managed to cause jump on the x-axis (hitting the extruder when changing filament on the fly) and it skipped a few steps. Now the layer being printed is mis-aligned. As there are a few hours of print on the board already, I would like to continue the printing. Is there a way to make the printer aware of the absolute position along the x-axis again? This way, I could recover and finish the print. Thanks!

Not currently unless you already had a serial terminal open before the print started. (Then you could issue a G28 X Y - but if you try to connect something now it will reset the printer) But there is an open feature request for this in the firmware (i.e. add a "home X Y" option to the paused print menu)

Thanks for the reply. The home X Y function would be very nice, hope it will land soon.

In this case, I was able to recover by pausing after spotting the mislignment, moving the to x=0.0 coordinate in the menu, then hand-jumping. It was just 1 jump off when I tried, so I readjusted and done. I imagine this would be more difficult for Y.
