Hi, It'sbail, 

the Mk2 uses a smaller hobbed gear than the Mk3, and the mk2 uses physical end stops whilst the mk3 uses virtual end stops. so you have probably been getting some Clunking as the printer tried to find the endstops... 

Additionally the XYZ Calibration test points are different mk2 to mk3, so... you really need the mk2 firmware... 

If I recall correctly, 
the Mk2S is the same as the Mk2, except
1, U bolts replace cable ties on the Y axis Bearings, 
2, the Smooth rods were upgraded from stainless steel, to hardened steel, with new bearings 
3, the heatbed connections were soldered to the heatbed on early mk2 printers where as later mk2S printers had bolted on wires for the heatbed power connections.  (If I recall correctly, the mk2, to mk2S upgrade, did not get the new style heat bed)
firmware wise, the two versions of mk2 printer, use the same firmware... 

My Mk2, is a basic Mk2, NOT the S derivative, and I am using the latest firmware (OK... I am using the MMU version, of the latest firmware... )

Please note there are firmware hex files for the Rambo mini 1.0a board and the Rambo Mini 1.3a board. IIRC I am using the Rambo 1.0a version.

Joan, Thanks for the insight.

I'm certain I have Rambo1.3 as the LCD/Control pinout are within the board and it stated such on the LCD before I flashed.

I doubt the firmware that is on github (located on https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware) is  not 3.2.3  since it states in the  Configuration.h file that it's 3.10.1 (line 18).  It doesn't work with my printer

Just wondering where I can get the individual files associated with 3.2.3 (not the single hex file)? That way I can change my e-steps, x location and y location.

here you can find all 3.2.3 related files including zipped  source files. Be aware this FW does not provide functionality offered in the latest 3.10.1.

Edit . sorry I was unprecize The 3.10.1  does not support MK2 neither provides the .hex file for mk2/S. 3.2.3 is the last available FW for MK2.

I'm not too familiar with github and was curious about noting rev changes and previous releases. Now I know to look a little deeper when it comes to github. My apologies on that.

I understand about using old FW but it's listed as the latest firmware revision here under "MK2S" and that file did work quite well. When I tried loading the latest 3.10.1 with the MK2 variant (firmware/variants/1_75mm_MK2-RAMBo13a-E3Dv6full.h), Z Axis had a lot of trouble and would alarm out.

I'll give this a shot when I get home and report back.

The link you are reffering to is not for mk2. Mk 2.5 is not mk2 is more close to MK3
