Prints falling apart after over an hour
Hi guys, I have had my printer for almost a year and I have made many successful prints. However, recently my prints have been very unsuccessful. It started with a print that had gone on for almost 20 hours. I noticed that some striation between layers was occurring and the print was becoming less accurate. It didn't take long for the whole print to fall apart. Now it happens with every print fairly quickly. I have tried updating the firmware, re-calibrating, and unclogging the extruder. The only thing that I can think of that has changed would be the humidity because it's summer (not sure if that affects anything). Attached is a picture of my issue.

Humidity is a possibility.
Ambient temperature is another possibility
sometimes more than one factor combine to give problems...
what filament are you using, Looks like it may be prusa silver PLA.
My room is currently 75 to 85% relative humidity on my cheap and cheerful sensor.
ambient temperature about 25 to 30 centigrade.
I haven't used prusa silver recently, but I have been using a lot of PLA ends of rolls, which are up to 2 years old and have never been stored in humidity controlled conditions. I have to admit all of my recent prints have been relatively small, but 80 small parts on one plate still takes 8 to 12 hours to print. the worst I have had, is one filament Chinese no name yellow... strings quite a lot. all other filaments have been no problem.
You suggest that most prints fail quite quickly... that suggests that something has changed...
have you tried a cold pull? or two or three... use a pale colour and look for dark flecks and discolouration... if this happens, repeat until filament is uncontaminated...
then Can you try the suspect filament, and run a pre sliced model off the original SD card to remove as many variables as possible. Choose a model that will last as long or preferably longer than you suspect it would take for a failed print, recently

Double- check extruder tensioner screws on left (should protrude < 1mm from cover) and extruder idler free rotation (under extruder cover at right). These seem to be common failures lately. Please reply with results so others can benefit too!
Good advice for a MK3, but this is a MK2S forum. Correct tension is around 13mm spring length.

Double- check extruder tensioner screws on left (should protrude < 1mm from cover) and extruder idler free rotation (under extruder cover at right). These seem to be common failures lately. Please reply with results so others can benefit too!
