Printing and calibration failed

Hello,

I use my printer I3mk2S for almost a year without any worries.
I print for 48 hours continuously for a project to be delivered today ...
After cleaning the nozzle, I started this morning with an impression that always starts with the 9-point calibration test. During this test, the nozzle hit the plate. The printer failed.
I restarted the calibration of the machine by a test of the Z axis. The problem was repeated
I started the procedure from the beginning with a self-test -> Selftest error! Please check: Endstop X cabling error

The verifications I made:
X / Y stops or X / Y motors are correctly connected to the miniRAMBo board.
I checked the absence of obstacles
XY and Z stops work well
I checked that both pulleys are tight
When I try to move the X axis manually (with the button) to the right: it's OK. When I try to move the X axis to the left, it does not move.
Finally, I also tried to update the firmware (currently v 3.0.12): I could not connect the machine to my pc.

Thank you for your help.
Eric

Your problem seems to be quite clear!
Selftest error! Please check: Endstop X cabling error

No matter whether it is right attached to the board, there most likely somewhere is a cable break occured while your previous monster-print....

Thank you for this diagnosis, but I do not know anything about electronics... 😀
Do you have a suggestion for me to simply check if there is actually a broken cable? and if so, how to fix?
My problem is with the X-axis test. Can the problem be with one of the many other cables or do I have to check only the x-axis cable?

Hi Eric,

there used to be an option to check or test your endstops, I believe it was in the calibration menu, near the bottom.

it gives a display like below

in these pictures I was testing the Z axis, which is the pinda probe.

on the mk2, if the printer is switched on and at rest, then moving the extruder by hand from the middle to the left and back again, should cause the X axis endstop to toggle between 0 and 1
similarly moving the bed from middle to back should cause Y axis to toggle 0, 1, 0 etc.

the pinda needs to be in mid air, to test, and the display will read 0 unless you put metal near the bottom of the pinda, when it should toggle to a 1

one of the wires may have broken inside the insulation, due to flexing, or broken off the switch, or the switch it's self may be faulty... ( My mk2 mmu X axis switch stopped working due to a faulty switch. replacing the switch resolved the issue!)
