nothing but problems

I purchased my i3 mk2 feb. 17 as a kit, got it assembled and printed a couple parts off card that came with it. about 2 months later my son {who I got this for} moved it to his room and said he could not get it to print, so I have been trying to get it to print for the last week and have not even got it to calibrate, would get to z axis and fail. so I checked all aliments and even reflashed, now it wont even get past the 1st selftest of fan...…...expensive paperweight right now, pretty disappointed.

Re: nothing but problems

What did support say when you contacted them?

If it was working before the move, it should be straightforward to get it going again. If you'd care to summarize your issues, someone here may be able to help. As it is, you've given us nothing to work with.

Re: nothing but problems

@Jeremy: Changing the probe - to be on the safest side - requires a full reset and recalibration. You should be able to verify the probe is working by watching the LED in it: it should be on when above the bed, and turn off as you move a screwdriver tip under it. If the LED is off or not switching, you need to find out why - usually a disconnected cable or a defective probe.

@Joseph: Moving a printer has risks. Did you snag a cable and pull a connector loose inside the EINSY? Did you snag hard enough a motor wire broke? Did one of the LCD cables get yanked free on one end; or damaged/cut? Was one of the rods used to lift with and got bent? Did the Y-Axis fly to an end stop hard and jam or dislodge one of the bearings? Many things to go wrong, all it'd take is one wrong jostle. And next time: reflashing to new firmware to solve a cal or likely mechanical problem is like changing a tire to fix a dead battery or no fuel situation.

After the reflash: did you perform a FULL Factory RESET with CLEAR?

just spent 130 usd on a board as that is what support told me the problem was and same thing, so far this thing is the biggest pos I've had...……..updated the firmware to the latest ver. before I tried anything with it..... first test , hotend fan fails, but the fan starts to run but shuts off immediately . also tried to manually move axis, and the z axis goes up but not down......POS

Re: nothing but problems

Well - when I power on my Mk3 and try to manually move Z axis, it only goes up, too. This is normal.
