hotend repair advice needed

I left my printer printing and while I was away it ran out of filament. Then I discovered the nozzle was blocked (filament goes in about an inch and then click-click=click). I warmed the nozzle and ran a cleaning wire up the nozzle. Filament still wouldn't feed through. So I decided to remove the nozzle to remove the blockage.

I changed the nozzle a while back, but this time I forgot to hold the heater block while unscrewing the nozzle.*
So when I thought I was unscrewing just the nozzle, I was actually unscrewing the nozzle, hotend and maybe the heat break. By the time I realized my error I saw there was a bend above the heater block (see photos). Also, I noticed the plastic next to the heater block was melted. I don't know if I did that the last time I changed the nozzle or today. So I thought: better to ask for advice than to plunge ahead and do further damage. I bought the printer asembled so I am going to have to learn a few things, I bet.

Any suggestions how I should proceed from here?
