HELP: firmware upgrade failed and system brick
Really sorry to bother you guys...
Today I tried to upgrade my firmware using USB cable connect to my laptop,
and it failed upgrade... then the 3D printer is bricked... (not able to boot)
I think I might used the incorrect firmware file... (can't believe I made such mistake... ><;)
is there anyway to recover the system? if not, can I just purchase the control board that come with correct firmware?
Please kindly help or point to any direction that I can look into...
I'm using PRUSA i3 MK2S, build from DIY kit...
Really really appreciate for your great help!

Re: HELP: firmware upgrade failed and system brick
Try a Factory Reset and then reload the correct firmware using Slic3r to do the firmware upload?

Re: HELP: firmware upgrade failed and system brick
Try reflashing it with the correct firmware. If necessary use the Prusa firmware updater standalone utility which was supplied until this last version of software moved it over to Slic3r. Hopefully that will recover it, good luck!
Re: HELP: firmware upgrade failed and system brick
If it still won't take after trying Olaf's suggestion, talk to Prusa Live Chat on the Shop page and explain the situation to them. They should be able to lead you to a solution, which may well be replacement of the LCD.

Re: HELP: firmware upgrade failed and system brick
TL;DR; If the firmware failed and you don't see your printer listed in the Slic3r firmware update or the Arduino IDE, you may be missing a driver. Look for CH340/CH341 drivers.
[*]I had a similar issue and found a resolution. It may be particular to me but I'll share anyways, hopefully it's helpful:
[*]I'm using a mac pro running High Sierra
[*]Same trigger -> tried to install the wrong firmware
[*]Afterwards, the firmware updater in Prusa Slic3r didn't recognize my printer
[*]Neither did the Arduino IDE (v1.6.9 as recommended)
Live support wasn't able to help, they referred me to technical support. I was about to go back and forth with them when I remembered something from my Arduino work. Clone arduinos use CH340/CH341 chipsets instead of FTDI. The drivers included in recent versions of OS X (and possibly windows) don't work with the clones.
