Fault on power supply
Well built the printer ok
Did a few prints , ok to start then had to keep changing height of PINDA.
Did Upgrade of software Slic3r etc ok
Did upgrade of firmware , ok
tried to do recalibrate xyz , wouldn't find points tried several times , lcd displayed pinda disconected or cable broken , Point not found , Please consult manual .all this time from the start of the problems there was an occasional flicker of the lcd.
On the last test did several points and then it said check wiring on y motor and something else so switched off checked all connections in the rambo box , all ok, checked for chaffing anywhere , none ,switch on and nothing no lcd lights.
I can see the led inside the power supply is on but when i open the rambo case and check the output of the power supply wires , nothing no reading .
I assume the power supply was failing to cause the problems and has now failed completely.

Is the PS fused somewhere? I am not near mine so I can't look. Maybe something like that?

Not fused, only a fuse on the plug which tests ok. i have a few of these swiching psu's and some have a reset button . this one doesn't .
Another thing is when i think back at the problems i had they were maybe pointing in a power fluctuation problem direction.

Is the AC input voltage set correctly on the power supply?

This is a test I would do, but you may want to get a second opinion.
1) disconnect the heater bed wires from the rambo
2) connect the heater bed wires directly to the power supply on the 12v line and see if the build plate heats up
3) using a multimeter, measure how much current is being delivered to the build plate.
Make sure you are careful not to leave the heater bed wires directly connected to the power supply for too long or you may burn out the heater bed.

There should be a fuse on the PSU. Just above where the power socket is located, in the same black plastic molding.

OK so fuse is ok PRJ but thanks not noticed that it just merges with the rest of the fitting .
David B14 there is no power from the power supply ether wire both dead tested with multimeter.
Mr Mik Yes it is set to 240 volts i have several of these and have had them for a few years i always check the switch for correct voltage .
Wirlybird Yes my thoughts exactly i have had this before on switchmode psu's they are either good or bad seems to be no inbetween
Hopefully Josef Prusa or one of the others will read this .

Watch the video below, it may be a loose ball that needs to be removed. Shake the power supply, does it make a rattle noise?
Does the power supply make a humming noise?
Please post a photo of the insides of the power supply.

Contact them on chat and ask/describe what's up. Best way to get the ball rolling for a replacement if warranted.

Yes Wirlybird i did that and got the ok to check inside psu fond internal fuse not quite home , result psu now working .
Next checked again on rambo fuses 15 amp ok 5 amp blown .
Pays not to trust eyes when doing fuse check , looks ok but no continuity Doh.
Now to travel 15 miles to get new fuse , i have every other size but no 5amp . 🙁

You may want to check your cars, many times they have spare fuses in the panel. It may safe you some gas if you get lucky.

I did that first 🙂 anyway , got one and i think the problem is in the rambo which would explain a few things , slow printing eratic height flashing or flickering of lcd . However suport are going to have a word with the techical dept so i may get a new rambo and pinda hopefully and then away we will go a happy bunny.

Sounds like at least it is a simple fix! Good to hear it will get back going again easily.
