Broken PINDA probe, but no replacement
My prints started getting very sloppy out of nowhere so I tried to do an XYZ calibration. The PINDA probe clearly can't find the bed as no matter what height I set it to it drives the nozzle into the bed when calibrating.
The problem is replacement PINDA probes for the MK2 don't seem to be sold anywhere. Where can I find a replacement? Will a V2 PINDA probe work on the MK2? Are MK2 parts being phased out?
RE: Broken PINDA probe, but no replacement
It's probably worth adding that as far as I can tell, nothing appears to be wrong with the probe. The red light goes off when i put anything metallic within about 1 mm of the probe head, all the wires are connected properly to the circuitboard. Could the magnet in the bed be screwing it up?
RE: Broken PINDA probe, but no replacement
If the LED winks out as metal approaches, it isn't the PINDA ... something else is happening. Try this: with the metal sheet on, manually set the nozzle at the bed surface. Go carefully so you don't ding the bed. Then check the PINDA LED. On or Off? If still on, drop the PINDA until it goes off, plus a bit, then try the cal again.
If this works, it might be as simple as the PINDA bumped into something and moved up.
