Broken heater cardrige?
Hi!
I received my kit yesterday. I assembled it successfully and all calibration went ok. Everything was ok, until end of first layer of first test print (Prusa logo). I received sudden Thermal Runaway error. After that hot-end refused to heat up. Selftest was ok everytime, but the hotend was cold. After some testing with multimeter I run into conclusion that heater cartridge is broken. Leads are ok, but the resistance of the heater cartridge is infinite (no connection). I'm not sure what the resistance of the heater should be, but I would guess that not infinite? 😉
Re: Broken heater cardrige?
Heater cartridge should be 5 to 6 ohms.
Most likely issue is a broken cable/bad connection somewhere, possibly caused by excessive movement.
Where abouts were you measuring the resistance of the heater cartridge? Best place is across the screws on the RAMBo connector.

Re: Broken heater cardrige?
I did that, yes. I already disassembled heater from the printer. Cables are ok (plus it's a new printer), but infinite resistance across the heater.
Thanks
