Bed preheat error
Howdy,
MKIIs. I am getting a bed preheat error when the bed heats up to about 79 or 80 (was preheating for PLA). The knowledge base on this says check that the thermister is attached. It shows kapton tape over what looks like Al tape holding on the thermister. I was working on the bed, and the Al tape has gone missing. Could this be it? Is the Al tape somehow important? I can get some and put it on there, I just wondered if anyone knew for sure.
thanks
Geoff
RE: Bed preheat error
The thermistor bead is round, the heatbed is flat, the thermistor bead is under the heatbed, heat rises, not the best arrangement for heat transfer.
the aluminium foil will conduct heat downwards towards the thermistor bead and improve heat transfer
I don't think it will do any harm!
regards Joan

RE: Bed preheat error
I am having the exact same error but my tape is in place, I replaced the thermistor and I tested the bed for current (it is working). It keeps failing as soon as it goes over 80 degrees. Could it be a firmware error? I tried reflashing it already.
