Any Ideas why this is happening?
I have had my MK2 for a couple of weeks and my results have been all over the place. Some stuff prints without an issue and others fail miserably. For the first week I only tried printing the included designs with varying levels of success. My most recent print, the 3d gears included on the SD card failed horribly. As you can see from the image the entire thing is fused together. Any ideas as to what would cause this? This is printed directly from the SD card as it came from Prusa.
The other nagging issue that I have been having is the printer will just stop feeding material. It seems to only happen on the larger prints and only once it gets to between 65-85%.
To say I am frustrated would be an understatement, any help would be appreciated.

Here is yet another instance of this happening.
I tried printing the Adalinda from the SD card and every thing went fairly well until it got to about 70% then it looks like the nozzle hit the print and broke the tail. I am beyond confused as to how this will print so well up to a certain point then just fail horribly.

Have you checked your z offset? If that isn't good then not much else will be. And although some prints are more forgiving than others if you have a crappy z value, the gears print is not one of them.
As to stopping feeding, have you actually seen/heard what happens when it occurs? Any clicking from the extruder? You aren't doing something courageous like removing the sd card while still printing are you?

When you say z Offset are you referring to my Live Adjust Z level? If so that is at -.577, that is the highest I can set it and still get the first layer to adhere to the bed.
Yes when it stops feeding I hear a clicking noise at the extruder and I can physically feel the filament skipping as the printer tries to feed it through.
No, while I am total noob when it comes to 3d printing I have not removed the SD card while printing!!!

in photo 2 you see individual strands of filament. When your Z height is correctly set that will be one smooth layer at an even height of 0.2mm. Look for jeff Jordan's life Z my way thread.
It takes time (and quite a bit of filament) to get it right but once you do - well worth the effort.

Or you could search for the Prusa calibration squares on Thingi and use those as a test. Print them out first, examine all the squares then make a live z adjustment one way, and repeat. You will get there eventually. It's not that difficult to achieve. You can also use this test to see if your bed is level, or not.
