RepRap or Marlin for gcode flavour?

note - apologies, I posted something to this effect in some other threads, but in that context as part of a larger troubleshooting question I haven't been able to get an answer, I'd delete my previous posts but dont seem to be able to.

In the version 2.1.4 (Slic3r 1.39.1) the gcode flavor is set to Marlin, while previous versions (slic3r 1.38.6 in particular) were "Reprap (Marlin/Sprinter)"

The marlin flavor gave me very different results when trying to calibrate my live z using a 70x70x0.2 square (the presliced test from jeffjordan wasnt working right, which is how i found out about this potential issue). Before I got good results at -635, but afterwards I needed to go all the way to -710 to get a passable test square. Setting the flavour to reprap in slic3r does well again with -650.

Long story short: which setting should I use for my i3 Mk2/s? There is definitely a difference in results depending what I choose.

I am somewhat ignorant on this issue, if marlin is the proper setting, or if it is there accidentally and reprap should be used.

Marlin is the best one to use; it gives much more accurate time estimates and it is the firmware in use by the printer.
